Spring Clean Your Life!

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Spring cleaning can refer to more than just de-cluttering your home…it is a great time to de-clutter your life in general.

Consider these five ways to begin cleaning up your life today!

1.  Make room for new experiences
It’s nice to hold on to pleasant memories of the past, but be careful not to let them hold you back from all the bright new opportunities, people and experiences in your future. Instead of holding on to visions of your past, try envisioning what you want in the future.

2.  Revamp your appearance
Spring is the perfect time to spruce up your wardrobe. You will be surprised how a new look will give you the confidence to change other areas in your life. Try experimenting with a new haircut, clothes or workout regime to start to change your overall look.

3.  Clean and organize areas where you spend the most time

It is easy to get overwhelmed with all this spring cleaning talk, but it might be easiest to start in areas where you spend the most time like your bedroom or family room. Visit local furniture stores to get ideas for creative new ways to store old items.

4.   Re-evaluate your relationships If you have been holding on to that toxic relationship – be it a friendship or a significant other
Now is the perfect time to rid yourself of any negative people, especially if you want to fill your life with fantastic positive people.

5. Guard your time
Learn to be more aware of your time. This will help you increase productivity. You only get each day once – write down what you need to achieve in a day, and tick off items on your list as you go.  Try to schedule time for yourself to decompress and have fun, too. Life is all about balance.

Which area of your life needs to be cleaned first?

I Want My FU Card Back

Posted by: | Comments (0)
Sister-Christian about ready to blow out of

high school

Not sure how one starts this blog, but might as well jump in.  So, I am adding a major goal to my life:

Getting my FU card back.

I am not sure where I lost it.  It’s not as easy as losing your credit card on a Saturday, where you just look at your transactions online and retrace your steps back to the classy establishment where you left it  – have you ever noticed how terrible these places look the next day?

But in retracing my steps, I lost pieces of my FU card over the last several years.  In fact, I think I officially lost it when I started dating that bad boyfriend 2009.

Today, my goal is to get it back.  What does it mean when you have your FU card?  It means  you have the ability to say enough is enough at anytime, and if the situation calls for it, you walk out that door, do some donuts in the parking lot, blasting Sister Christian, and your colleagues will watch from the windows, and a few brave ones will run out, jump in your car (Dukes of Hazard style), and you blow out of town for a few days to figure it all out, only to return in new suits,  with a newly discovered swagger, and a bad ass business plan.  Six months later, you have a business empire that is running the way you want – the right way.

Ok, maybe that is just for the movies. But seriously, power means you have choices, so my goal is to get back to a place where we financially can make our own road.  While nothing really in my life requires pulling the FU card right now, we all need to have the confidence that we are in charge of our lives, our future and our happiness.  Duh, I know, but somehow, by making various decisions in my life, I gave that card away.  I am on my way to getting it back,  and maybe, just maybe, you will see me doing donuts in a parking lot near you.

So…here is the question:

What car should I be driving when I pull the card?   As a product of the 80s/ 90s, I am stuck in a generation, but here are my top picks?  Let me know what you think, and what you do with your FU card!

  • Convertible Karmann Ghia …. Pretty in Pink Style.  I will have this car one day.
  • CJ-7 or CJ-5 – my older brother had one in high school, I mean nothing gets cooler than your brother in high school, except his friends :)
  • Scout – I mean just cool, and awesome, perfect for the taking a few days to “figure it out” in.
